This itinerary is not a physical path, but a tasting experience. To start, we propose a “sea” dish, namely the spaghetti in squid ink sauce from Porto Empedocle, a very peculiar recipe, especially to those who try it for the first time, with its surreal and funny chromatic look. But the flavour of this condiment makes you close your eyes and dream. We proceed “inland”, where the spinach-stuffed 'mpanati from Butera, especially in the version with potatoes or sausages, are a feast of local products and earthly, concrete flavour. Let’s finish with a bang, with the mythical cannolo of ancient and exotic origins, or the unique crunchy nougat from Caltanissetta. This is certainly a caloric journey, but indispensable to visit the District through your taste buds.
