LAGO SOPRANO
The Lago Soprano natural reserve is a protected natural area established in 2000, by a decree of the regional council for the territory and the environment. The Soprano lake, also known as "Cuba", is a surface cavity typical of the karstic soil, created by the action of the water on the limestone. It is situated in a natural depression filled by rain and spring waters. The lake dates back at least to the early 1900. In time, it has extended until reaching 15 hectares of surface, with a maximum depth of 2.5 metres. The lake is home to birds like the coot and the pochard, a typical diving duck with a red head and a reddish-brownish neck.
