ROMAN BRIDGE
Downstream from the Gallo d'Oro Creek, in a suggestive and characteristic valley, there are two stumps of a big bridge, the so-called "Roman bridge", which collapsed at the end of July 1980. The bridge, built over the Gallo d’Oro Creek, was part of itinerary Antoninus Augustus, an important road junction that led to Agrigento. Antonino Lucchesi Palli tried to restore it in 1815. Until its collapse, the ancient bridge had been an important communication route for the inhabitants of Campofranco and Milena.
